Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah

May the light of Yeshua shine brightly in us and through us.

"For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given... And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." - (Isaiah 9:6)

Dear Wanda, Today we celebrate the miracle of Christmas - the birth of Jesus (Yeshua) — our Savior, the Light of the World, and the Prince of Peace. His coming brought hope to all mankind, and His presence continues to transform lives today. My life can be divided into two distinct parts — B.C. (Before Christ, before my spiritual rebirth), and A.D. (After Death to myself, which is now a daily occurrence). It's interesting that this evening begins the first day of Hanukkah, the festival of lights — an 8-day celebration of the rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem in 164 B.C. after the 3-year Maccabean revolt. Without Hanukkah, there would be no Christmas. Christmas is celebrated on the 25th of December each year because Hanukkah begins on the 25th day of the month of Kislev according to the Hebrew calendar. It's unusual for Christmas and the start of Hanukkah to occur on the same day. So be on the lockout for special blessings and opportunities to bless others during the next 8 days.

PRAYER POWER Father God, thank You for this precious time of the year to remember and celebrate the birth of Yeshua, who You sent to save the world, including me. Thank you for Hanukkah, Your festival of lights. May each of us choose to rededicate our temples (and lives) to You. May the light of Yeshua shine brightly in us and through us. Father, we pray that the light and hope of Yeshua will minister to people around the world this Christmas and Hanukkah, especially in areas where people are going through much suffering or are very oppressed. We say, "Let there be light!" We release light, life, and love to one another and to people around the world. We declare, "Your hope is in Yeshua!" In the mighty and matchless name of Yeshua HaMashiach, we pray. Amen and hallelujah!
