Dear Wanda, One of the most important aspects of love is forgiveness. The message of the cross is love and forgiveness. You can't have one without the other. I believe many, if not most, people are stuck because they have overt or hidden unforgiveness. In December 2001, the Holy Spirit convicted me for hidden unforgiveness toward someone who hurt me a few years earlier. As a result, I sent a family Christmas card to that person and began praying for her daily. What happened 3 months later was absolutely amazing. Forgiveness is a serious issue to God. Forgiving people who have hurt you, whether intentionally or unintentionally, is not an option.

In Matthew 6:14-15, Jesus says: "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." There is an obstacle to forgiveness that most people have never recognized. Until that obstacle is identified and removed, your heart is not able to truly forgive.
