The Power of Covenant and Daily Communion

How to experience the supernatural grace of the Lord's Supper every day.

"He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him." (John 6:56, NKJV)

Dear Wanda,

Shabbat Shalom! There is nothing so precious as the body and blood of Jesus! Through Him we access every covenant blessing, every promise, every benefit of the great exchange that took place at Calvary.

This is something we all "know" and believe, but after hearing Craig Hill teach on the power of covenant and communion during his recent class, "Why Do Bad Things Happen to Me?", I knew that we needed to include him in our recent Pentecost Awakening Gathering.

We dedicated an entire session of our gathering to the Power of Communion. What Craig and the panelists who joined him brought to the table was extraordinary!

I feel this is a message that every believer needs to lay hold of! As Craig said in this session, just being in a covenant is not enough. You have to know what it is, understand the provisions available to you through it, and be willing to enforce it to unleash the full power and blessing in your life. Communion is a powerful way to do this every day.

Here are a few highlights:

  • Communion is a ratification of the covenant we have with God.
  • Every time you partake, you receive supernatural empowerment.
  • You can be in a covenant and still be a stranger to the covenant (Eph. 2:11-13)
  • Most Western believers think of covenant in terms of a contract dependent on both parties fulfilling a set of conditions.
  • True covenant means, "All I have and all I am is yours. My promise is my promise unconditionally."
  • "The life is in the blood" (Leviticus 17:11). In primal cultures, drinking the blood of an animal is considered a way to gain the virtue of that animal (i.e. the courage of a lion, or the strength of a buffalo).
  • In God's culture, blood is sacred. The life is in the blood. Every time we partake of the communion cup in faith, we are receiving the virtue of Christ. (John 6:56)
  • Every time you receive communion you are ratifying the covenant Jesus made with His body –acknowledging that all He is, all He has, all He promises are yours, and likewise, all I have, all I am is Yours.
  • Two questions to ask every time you celebrate communion: 1. Am I withholding anything from the jurisdiction of the Lord (i.e. attitudes, actions, money, relationships)? 2. Is there anything promised in God's covenant that I have not yet received (i.e. prophetic knowledge, healing, provision, more anointing or power)?
  • Communion is a prophetic act.
  • Communion softens hearts, lifts oppressions, is an act of intercession, and is a powerful spiritual weapon.
  • When we drink Jesus' blood, we dismantle parts of hell.
  • Communion calls the prodigals home.
  • Jesus shed His blood in seven ways, symbolizing the complete victory of His sacrifice. You can pull on each of these redemptive blessings every time you take of the Lord's Supper: 1. He sweat drops of blood in the garden; winning back our willpower, 2. He bore stripes on His back; winning back our health, 3. He wore the crown of thorns; winning back our prosperity, 4. His hands were pierced; He gained back dominion over everything we touch, 5. His feet were nailed to the cross; He won back dominion for every place we walk; 6. His heart was pierced by a spear; He won back our joy, 7. Jesus was bruised internally; He won deliverance from inner hurts and iniquities.
  • Communion is a place of fellowship–one with one another and with Christ (1 Cor. 10:15-17).
  • Communion brings us into knowledge of the fellowship of His sufferings, and releases in us the power of resurrection.
  • Communion is a gateway to perceive, understand, recognize, gain knowledge, and have personal experience and encounter with the Lord and His covenant blessings.

The Power of Covenant and Daily Communion is a life-changing message that every believer needs to lay hold of. If you want to go deeper in your understanding of the glorious gift of God's covenant and how to access it fresh each day, I encourage you to Watch the Power of Covenant and Daily Communion message today.

PRAYER POWER

Abba (Father), thank you for the glorious, complete, and awesome work You did when You sent Your Son, Jesus, to redeem the world from the hand of the devil. The riches of your gift are more than we can think, imagine, or comprehend. Thank you for continually opening up revelation so we can step into more and more of the blessings available to us through Jesus' body and blood.

Father, open our hearts and eyes to understand and appropriate the power of what You have given to us. Let us not fall short of the wondrous charge You have given us to take the good news of Your Kingdom into all the world, enforcing the blessings You won in the seven-fold shedding of your blood. Empower us to lay hold of the authority and power You have granted us so we would extend Your Kingdom and dominion everywhere we go.

Thank you for exchanging all You have and are for me. May I come afresh to Your table with renewed faith and expectation for a flow of your virtue and fellowship with Your presence. Open my eyes to see every place I am holding back parts of my life from Your jurisdiction so I can release them to you. Increase my faith to draw on every blessing I do not yet see fully realized in my life, so I can appropriate Your precious gift for Your Kingdom advance.
