Family is God's Mountain
I woke up the next morning and received a major download in my spirit: Family is the lead domino to multiply the Kindgom throughout the earth.
You have probably heard of the seven mountains that shape culture: business, education, government, arts and entertainment, media, religion, and family.
Well, of those spheres of influence, the foundation of them all is the family mountain.
As the family goes, so go the nations. Family is the first institution ordained by God in the Garden of Eden. Family is the way Jesus made His entrance into the earth! He came as a Son to reveal the Father.
Family is fundamental to God's kingdom. It's His original plan to disciple the nations.
That is why I felt it was imperative to host a second LIVE Zoom session with Greg Gunn in order to finish our conversation about Family ID.
And wow! Just wow! You have got to watch this session. You will never think about family the same way again.
Here are a few highlights from this extraordinary session with Greg Gunn:
- What one family member can do to set off a generational shift! Greg shared the testimony of a grandfather who heard the Family ID message and took it to heart. He came up with a strategy to get his whole extended family on board (you'll have to watch the video for the details!). The result of his initial gathering is an annual tradition where the whole family–grandparents, children, aunts, uncles, and cousins–come together to cast vision, set new goals, and report on what God revealed to them in the previous year. It is amazing!
- Grandmothers, grandfathers, aunts, and uncles have more influence in their little fingers than mom and dad have in their whole body! You are the heroes your grandchildren, neices, and nephews look up to and adore.
- Get God's vision for your grandchildren, nieces, and nephews and begin to speak that into their lives. They might act like they are not interested, but they are doing flips on the inside at your life-giving words. You can't imagine the impact you could have!
- You may not have children, or your grandchildren may not be walking with the Lord. That's okay. The vision you record now may be the game-changer God wants to impart to a generation you haven't even met.
- God has chosen to build His Kingdom with each one of us as His children. He sent Jesus into the world as His Son. Why? Because God designed the family to bring salvation and discipleship to every generation.
- It is vital that you lay the foundation for your family–present, future, natural, and spiritual–by putting God's vision for your family in writing.
- God has a special blessing for singles, single-parents, and blended families.
- When you go through the Family ID process, you will never be able to do family like you've done it in the past!
- The Holy Spirit wants to give you His download to create a healthy family identity.
- Declare these promises over your family every day: Psalm 112:1-3; Psalm 25:12-13; Isaiah 54:13
- God has a dream for every family!
Write the Vision:
Do you want to start partnering with God and release His dream for your family?
There are immediate steps you can take, starting now, to begin to unlock God's promises for your family all the way down to your last cousin, twice-removed!
Greg suggested to start by writing down the names of every member of your family (natural, spiritual, and extended out to the furthest cousin.) You may have to make some phone calls for this one.
Then let God just speak through the end of your pen. You will be amazed at what He has to say!
Begin to pray over those names, declaring the words God has shown you and asking the Lord to prepare their hearts to hear what He wants to release in them.
Just doing this alone will begin to bring intentional direction to your family's course.
Greg concluded his session with three power-packed verses that you can pray and release over your family. The revelation he shares is off the chart. If every one of us begins to declare these words over our children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, we could revolutionize the entire earth!
I believe it is God's heart to see this message go out to every family in every nation. This was confirmed by a Holy-Spirit orchestrated firestorm of prayer and divine connections that unfolded at the end of this session.
