Have you ever wondered how or when to minister?
Maybe you ran into a friend and discovered they were going through a bout of anxiety and depression. Did you immediately lay hands on them and pray for deliverance, tell them you would be praying for them, or hug them and silently question what you should do?
Perhaps you are on a prayer or ministry team and question why you sometimes feel a strong unction of the Holy Spirit and other times you feel nothing at all. Does the "feeling" make a difference in the outcome?
You may even have doubts as to whether you have an anointing to minister at all!
It's time to put your questions to rest.
James Goll delivered one of the most powerful teachings I have ever heard on moving and operating in the anointing!
In his webinar, "Increasing in Your Anointing: How to Grow in the Power and Presence of God," James addressed everything from the basics of what (or Who) the anointing is, to graduate-level instruction on how to move and minister in power!
One of my favorite parts (and one that generated an overwhelming response from viewers) was when James described the three divergent ways to minister in the anointing.

Here's a quick summary of the three dimensions of moving in power:
- By Faith
You pray for people because the Bible tells you to! You may not feel or sense anything special, but you act in raw obedience to the Scriptures. For instance, you pray for the sick because James 5:14-15 says to. You simply do it because that's what you do. It is not ministering by special leading, it is ministering by faith and obedience. You have to take a risk and step out. This one works for everybody.
- By the Gifts of the Spirit
In this level, you operate in the various supernatural enablements of the Spirit by the grace of God. You may get a word of knowledge for someone, and act out of that gift to release the anointing for healing or breakthrough. You may see a Scripture for someone, and know the Lord has a word or direction for you to release into their lives. You may feel heat or electricity in your hands, and sense that the Lord has a healing anointing to release to that person. (James expanded on this with some amazing testimonies!)
- In the Glory Realm
This is where the tangible, manifest Presence is poured out and you minister under an "Open Heaven" where all things are possible. This is a realm that you can see operating in many historic revivals, and we expect to see more and more as we approach the next great outpouring of the Holy Spirit. (You'll want to watch the replay to hear what James is saying about where we are in this process today.)
What I love about James' webinar is he didn't stop with the bullet points. He pulled example after example out of his treasure trove of listening to and moving in the power of the Holy Spirit to show you how and when to operate in these different dimension of the anointing.
